BOONE COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) - Boone County’s quick response team is working to battle the local opioid crisis.

Bill Mullins, founder of Hero House Recovery, said, “It is a very serious issue. Boone County is one of the worst in the nation per population.”

The Response Team said a partnership with R3 and Hero House recovery led to funding 40 new emergency overdose kits.

QRT Director Bridget Chafin said, “They’re usually in high-trafficked public places such as community centers, or churches any kind of businesses.”
