Organization wants to challenge how you think about addiction

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WCHS) — The stigma surrounding addiction and mental health is often a barrier for those looking for help. That’s why many organizations are trying to challenge how we think about addiction


One of those organizations is the West Virginia Drug Intervention Institute, which focuses on reducing deaths in the state from opioid and drug abuse.


Dr. Susan Bissett, president of the Institute, talks one-on-one with Eyewitness News Anchor Jenifer McAndrews about how it truly takes a village to change how people view those in addiction. You can watch the full interview above.
