We’re proud to recognize our partners in North Dakota for their continued work expanding ONEbox® deployment, naloxone education and community overdose response.
Their research, published August 26, 2026, in the Journal of Ethnographic and Qualitative Research, highlights the important role ONEboxes® can play within communities and local public health units—not only as overdose response tools, but also as resources for education, stigma reduction and community empowerment.
As the researchers noted:
“Participants described ONEboxes® not only as overdose reversal tools but also as mechanisms for community education regarding harm reduction efforts such as naloxone interventions, stigma reduction towards opioid use and overdose, and empowerment of community members. The embedded instructional video was viewed as critical in increasing bystander confidence and reducing hesitation during emergencies.”
This research reinforces the value of making lifesaving tools and clear overdose response education accessible where people live, work and gather.
