Murray State University hosted a large panel of law enforcement officers and drug treatment specialists Tuesday in Wrather Auditorium to discuss how they are trying to combat the cycle of addiction plaguing many families across Kentucky and the nation.

Murray State President Dr. Bob Jackson welcomed the guests onstage and the audience, which nearly filled the room. He said the university wanted to facilitate a candid conversation so attendees could hopefully gain some insight about the important topic of illicit drugs, in particular fentanyl. Experts warn that fentanyl is extremely dangerous, can kill in very small doses and is increasingly being found laced into other drugs where the user might not expect.
